Perhatikan gambar di samping! Pada batang AC yang massanya diabaikan bekerja 3 gaya yang besar dan arahnya seperti pada gambar. Tentukan momen gaya total terhadap:
a. titik A
b. titik B

Batang homogen AB dengan panjang 60 cm bermassa 3 kg diputar dengan sumbu putar tegak lurus batang berjarak 1⁄3 L dari ujung A (L = panjang batang AB). Berapakah momen inersia batang AB tersebut?

Untuk menghitung momen inersia batang AB dapat dianggap batang AB terdiri atas dua bagian yang masing-masing diputar pada ujungnya, sehingga: Untuk batang dengan panjang 1⁄3L diperoleh:
